Branciforte 2007Small size (as in Proheteromys); molars brachydont; no lingual styles on upper molars except hypostyle on M1; posterior cingulum posterior to meta- cone on M1, variably present on P4 and M2; central val- ley of upper molars closed lingually by lingual cingu- lum; premolars smaller than molars; p4 with anteropos- terior loph from base of metaconid to base of entoconid; protostylid on p4 variable in size, equal to metaconid or much reduced; large hypoconulid on p4-m2; m1 and m2 with V-shape of hypolophid developed to varying degrees; small flange at base of mandibular symphysis.
