Lecobasicrinus was named by Strimple and Watkins (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-l C Step-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cymbiocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aesiocrinidae by Webster and Lane (2007).
