Moscovicrinus was named by Jaekel (1918) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc P Wc]. It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was assigned to Blothrocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Crinoidea by Webster and Webster (2012).
