Moundocrinus was named by Strimple (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-l C Step-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ampelocrinidae by Pabian and Rushlau (2002); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aesiocrinidae by Webster and Lane (2007).
