Taxonomy
Gonioloboceras eliasi was named by Miller and Owen (1939). Its type specimen is SUI 13524, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is George Howell strip pit, which is in a Moscovian marine shale in the Cherokee Formation of Missouri.
It was recombined as Gonioloboceratoides eliasi by Nassichuk (1975).
