Taxonomy
Petalocrinus was named by Weller and Davidson (1896) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m S Wenl]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Petalocrinidae. It was considered monophyletic by Mao et al. (2015).

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Petalocrinidae by Mao et al. (2015).
