Taxonomy
Manticoceras insulare was named by Nikolaeva (2009). Its type specimen is PIN 5256/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Belkovsky Island, outcrop 579, bed 2, which is in a Frasnian carbonate limestone in the Nerpalakh Formation of the Russian Federation.
