Taxonomy
Porocrinus was named by Billings (1857) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l O Ashg-m]. It is not extant. Its type is Porocrinus conicus. It is the type genus of Porocrinidae.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Porocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Ausich (1998) and Wright et al. (2019).
