Taxonomy
Poteriocrinites was named by Miller (1821) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-l C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 906]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Poteriocrinitacea, Poteriocrinidae.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Poteriocrinitidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Webster and Lane (1987) and Webster and Lane (2007).
