Proallosocrinus was named by Moore and Strimple (1973) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-u C Mosc-l]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cymbiocrinidae by Moore and Strimple (1973) and Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
