Proindocrinus was named by Yakovlev (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-m]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Indocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Webster and Webster (2012).
