Cenoceras arare

Taxonomy
Nautilus araris was named by Dumortier (1869). Its type specimen is ML 8083, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saint-Didier, Mont d'Or (Davoei), which is in a Davoei carbonate limestone in France.

It was recombined as Cenoceras araris by Kummel (1956) and Comas-Rengifo et al. (1999); it was recombined as Cenoceras arare by Calzada (1988).
