Schmidtocrinus was named by Haarmann (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: D Eife]. It is not extant. Its type is Rhenocrinus winterfieldi.

It was assigned to Rutkowskicrinidae by McIntosh (2001); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
