Cimomia felix

Taxonomy
Nautilus felix was named by Chapman (1915) [TYPE LOCALITY: Happy Valley, South Australia]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Happy Valley (Dennant collection), which is in a Bartonian carbonate marl in Australia.

It was recombined as Eutrephoceras felix by Kummel (1956); it was recombined as Cimomia felix by McGowran (1959) and Cockbain (1968).

Synonyms
  • Cimomia yorkensis was named by McGowran (1959). Its type specimen is University of Adelaide F15558, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yorke Peninsula, which is in a Priabonian deep subtidal ramp marl in the Blanche Point Formation of Australia.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Cimomia felix by Cockbain (1968).
