Synarmocrinus was named by Lane (1964) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash C Step-l Sepkoski's reference number: 257]. It is not extant. Its type is Synarmocrinus brachiatus.

It was assigned to Cromyocrinidae by Lane (1964); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
