Taxonomy
Paramesosciophilodes rarissima was named by Gao et al. (2015). Its type specimen is CNU-DIP-NN2013145, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2013 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
