Pseudaganides portlandicus
Taxonomy
Nautilus (Hercoglossa) portlandicus was named by Foord and Crick (1890). Its type specimen is BMNH 62465, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Isle of Portland, which is in a Tithonian carbonate limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Nautilus portlandicus by von Loesch (1914); it was recombined as Pseudaganides portlandicus by Kummel (1956).
