Triceracrinus was named by Bramlette (1943) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u P Wc]. It is not extant. Its type is Triceracrinus moorei.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pirasocrinidae by Pabian and Rushlau (2002).
