Taxonomy
Zeacrinites was named by Burdick and Strimple (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Serp-l]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Zeacrinitacea.

It was corrected as Zeacrinus by Bassler and Moodey (1938).

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Zeacrinitidae by Bassler and Moodey (1938), Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Webster and Webster (2012).
