Taxonomy
Teicherticeras was named by Erben (1960) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,457]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Teicherticeratidae, Teicherticeratinae.

It was assigned to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Teicherticeratinae by Korn and Klug (2002), Korn (2006) and Ubelacker et al. (2016).
