Brachiomonocrinus was named by Arendt (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: K Vala-l K Barr-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Brachiomonocrinus simplex.

It was assigned to Cyrtocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hemibrachiocrinidae by Hess and Messing (2011).
