Taxonomy
Cyrtocrinus was named by Jeakel (1892) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo K Vala]. It is not extant. Its type is Eugeniacrinites nutans.

It was assigned to Melocrinitacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Cyrtocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Sclerocrinidae by Salamon (2009), Hess and Messing (2011) and Hess (2012).
