Taxonomy
Muniericeras dresdense was named by Petrascheck (1902). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dresden-Strehlen, Saxony, which is in a Turonian marine limestone in the Strehlen Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Tragodesmoceras dresdense by Wilmsen and Nagm (2014).
