Lonchocrinus was named by Jaekel (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo K Vala-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Eugeniacrinus dumortieri.
It was assigned to Cyrtocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eugeniacrinitidae by Hess and Messing (2011) and Hess (2012).
