Paracotylederma was named by Manni and Nicosia (1990) [Sepkoski's age data: J Toar]. It is not extant. Its type is Paracotylederma gracile.

It was assigned to Cyrtocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cotyledermatidae by Hess and Messing (2011).
