Taxonomy
Mixomanticoceras exploratum was named by Becker et al. (1993). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Goniatite zone E1, Loc. 365 , Frasnian, Canning Basin, which is in a Frasnian marine shale/limestone in the Gogo Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Mixomanticoceras.
