Atlanta (Heliconoides) trochiformis was named by Orbigny (1836) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Mediterranean.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Atlanta inflata by Souleyet (1852) and Zorn (1997); it was recombined as Limacina trochiformis by Be and Gilmer (1977); it was recombined as Heliconoides inflata by Janssen et al. (2008) and Cahuzac and Janssen (2010).
