Chariocrinus was named by Hess (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: J Toar-l J Oxfo Sepkoski's reference number: 864]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Isocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); to Isocrinidae by Severts-Doreck (1983) and Hunter et al. (2011); and to Isocrininae by Hess and Messing (2011).
