Taxonomy
Mesembrioxylon mazzonii was named by Petriella (1972) [Adicional samples: LP-PB 9062, LP-PB 9063]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: LP-PB 9064, a wood. Its type locality is Puesto Fernández - wood, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial sandstone in the Bororó Formation of Argentina.
