Sporadoceras impressum was named by Becker and Zong (2015). Its type specimen is PUM 14040, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is XZ448, Bulongguoer section, which is in a Famennian carbonate limestone in the Hongguleleng Formation of China.
