Taxonomy
Shumardites librovitchi was named by Ruzhentsev (1939). Its type specimen is PIN 319/1492, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aidaralash Creek, outcrop 9, which is in a Gzhelian marine limestone in Kazakhstan.
