Taxonomy
Selenops dominicanus was named by Wunderlich (2004). Its type specimen is F932/DB/AR/SEL/CJW, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Wunderlich collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
