Himerometra was named by Clark (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo R]. It is extant. Its type is Actinometra robustipinna. It is the type genus of Himerometridae.

It was assigned to Comatulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Himerometridae by Hess and Messing (2011).
