Remesimetra was named by Sieverts-Doreck (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi K Ceno]. It is not extant. Its type is Glenotremites discoidalis.

It was assigned to Comatulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Notocrinidae by Hess and Messing (2011).
