Semiometra was named by Gislén (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath K Maes]. It is not extant. Its type is Antedon impressa.

It was assigned to Comatulida by Rasmussen (1961) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Notocrinidae by Jagt (1999), Jäger (2010) and Hess and Messing (2011).
