Taxonomy
Gyaclavator kohlsi was named by Wappler et al. (2015). Its type specimen is USNM 578190, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Denson site, locality 42053 (Denson intermediate), which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Gyaclavator.
