Taxonomy
Subanarcestes jahni was named by Chlupac and Turek (1983). Its type specimen is CM L7874, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Koneprusy, Acanthopyge Limestone (Barrande collection), which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the Chotec Formation of the Czech Republic.
