Taxonomy
Mesoraphidia daohugouensis was named by Lu et al. (2015). Its type specimen is CNU-RAP-NN-2015001, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2015 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
