Taxonomy
Pachycondyla aberrans was named by Dlussky et al. (2015). Its type specimen is PIN 3429/104, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bolshaya Svetlovodnaya, Biamo (PIN collection 3429), which is in a Priabonian lacustrine diatomite in the Russian Federation.
