Roveacrinus was named by Douglas (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi K Coni]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Roveacrinidae.

It was assigned to Roveacrinidae by Peck (1943); and to Roveacrinida by Sepkoski (2002).
