Taxonomy
Traumatocrinus was named by Woehrmann (1889) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis Tr Carn-l Sepkoski's reference number: 980]. It is not extant. Its type is Porocrinus caudex. It is the type genus of Traumatocrinidae.

It was assigned to Encrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Traumatocrinidae by Hess and Messing (2011).
