Taxonomy
Orchesia (Orchestera) canaliculata was named by Alekseev and Bukejs (2015). Its type specimen is AWI-055, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Alekseev coll), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Orchesia canaliculata by Bukejs and Alekseev (2015).
