Spirocrinus was named by Mu and Wu (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m Sepkoski's reference number: 651]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Petalocrinidae by Mu and Wu (1974); and to Crinoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
