Taxonomy
Mesoses gayndah was named by Lambkin (2014). Its type specimen is QM F.57544, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Road cutting 3 km ENE of Gayndah, which is in an Anisian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Gayndah Formation of Australia.
