Taxonomy
Lepidechinoides was named by Olsson (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 956]. It is not extant. Its type is Lepidechinoides ithacensis.

It was assigned to Lepidocentridae by Kier (1966) and Boczarowski (2001); and to Echinocystitoida by Sepkoski (2002).
