Gemmamonocolpites perfectus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 29073.
]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 43, 11 x 86.2, a microspore (Pollen grain).
