Taxonomy
Euhydrodiskos diktyotos was named by Guensburg (1988). Its type specimen is PE40136, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North end of Orchard Creek Exposure, 1.6 km north of Thebes, which is in a Richmondian shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Orchard Creek Shale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Euhydrodiskos.
