Taxonomy
Membranipora ancarteri was named by Brown (1958). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MGSV, 52994. Its type locality is Glenaulin, sample IV, which is in a Miocene/Oligocene marine limestone in the Wataepoolan limestone Formation of Australia.
