Retibrevitricolporites grandis was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 28774. Paratype: UFP 49, 21.4 x 81.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 33, 14.9 x 111.5, a microspore (pollen grain).
