Retitrescolpites magnus

Taxonomy
Retitrescolpites magnus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [n. comb.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 38, 19.4 x 88.8, a microspore (pollen grain). Its type locality is Pinalerita UFP 34, Llanos foothills, COlombia, which is in an Eocene fluvial-deltaic siliciclastic in the Areniscas de el Limbo Formation of Colombia.

Diameter of lumina 3-6 μ. Wall semitectate. Thickness of exine about 4.5 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Equatorial constriction. Polar area rather small.
